In this book, we take a critical intercultural communication pedagogy
approach to rethink the notion of "special populations" and consider
issues relevant to higher education and the communication discipline.
The term "special population" occupies a particular purpose and has a
particular role in the discourse of higher education. It is an umbrella
term that can include, among others, individuals with physical and
learning disabilities, individuals from economically disadvantaged

New for Technical Communication: the cover of the journal will be a juried space

Beginning with the February 2016 issue of Technical Communication, the cover of the journal will be a juried space (of approximately 20x20 cm or 8x8 inches) for graphic artists. Each issue will offer the opportunity for a theme-related submission of diagrams, drawings, collages, infographics, cartoons, comic strips, or brief graphic narratives. The theme for the cover of the February 2016 issue is "The Future of Technical Communication."
