Constitution Day

The Constitutional Convention ratified the U.S. Constitution 219 years ago today in Philadelphia. Bet you knew that.

I've spent the last several weeks working with Cece Merkel on Penn State's Constitution Day website ... which is intended to get folks thinking about the Constitution for -- gasp -- more than one day a year. We're such subversives.

You can find Penn State's CDay citizen-scholar website here; Penn State's Laboratory for Public Scholarship and Democracy website here; and -- at least for a few days -- an op-ed I committed in the local newspaper here. It is what it is and it ain't what it ain't.

For reasons you can find on the history link of the CDay website, any educational institution receiving federal funds has to implement educational programming of some sort each year on or around Sept. 17. Beats the heck out of military recriters.... All this has me thinking about Jefferson and revolution. Time has come today? M'thinks We the People no longer have the attention span for revolution.
