Why I Should Never Watch Oprah

Submitted by Jim Aune on November 24, 2008 - 7:35pm

Miriam laughing maniacally from the living room. I ask, "What are you laughing at?" She says, "Oprah just said, 'If you're not going to love your vulva, who will?'" --Seems there was a discussion of poor genital self-image. . . . Miriam: "Well, it's only women who have this problem. Every man thinks his dick is the center of the universe." And I respond: "This is a problem, why?"

Mad Men and Blinking

Submitted by Jim Brown on October 27, 2008 - 1:14pm

Any Mad Men fans out there? Last night's season finale was strong. Of course, as I was watching the characters deal with the Cuban Missile Crisis, I was reading Jim's post about Syria...life imitating art? Given all the discussion of whether or not Sarah Palin blinks, it was interesting to watch the Mad Men characters dealing with JFK's staring contest.

It looks like AMC wants to do a third season, but it's going to cost them. The actors have some leverage now. Also, for those really geeky fans, check out Don Draper's twitter feed. And also don't miss Don Draper's guide to picking up women.
