15th Biennial Public Address Conference

Submitted by syntaxfactory on January 26, 2016 - 11:38pm

We are pleased to announce that the website for the 15th Biennial Public Address Conference has launched:

On this website you will find logistical details about registration, lodging, and schedule. We also include information about the featured talks, the history of the Biennial Public Address Conference, as well as bios of this year’s participants, the keynote speaker, Carole Blair, and the conference honoree, Stephen Lucas.

This beloved symposium has a long tradition and richly deserved reputation for bringing together many of discipline’s most talented and exciting established and emergent scholars to engage on a common theme of significance to rhetorical history. The theme for the 15th Biennial Public Address Conference is “The Conceit of Context.” That the conference unfolds exclusively in single plenary session makes the weekend of sustained conversation compelling and memorable, often staying with attendees long after the closing banquet.

We hope you’ll join us September 29-October 1, 2016 at the Genesee Grande Hotel in Syracuse for the 15th Biennial Public Address Conference!

I had read about that the Public Address Conference was “founded” by Michael C. Leff (1941-2010) and David Zarefsky in 1987 and commenced a year later, hosted for the first time by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
