I'd like to call to your attention the publication of my new book, "Speaking Hermeneutically: Understanding in the Conduct of a Life" by the University of South Carolina Press. This project, which was written specifically toward academic rhetoricians, attempts to integrate rhetorical criticism with a hermeneutic sensibility. It includes readings of several Lincoln speeches, the rhetoric of Edith Wharton, John Henry Newman, John Brown, and an obscure little work by Anthony Trollope.
