SYNOPSIS: Major grants of over $2000 are awarded at biannual
deadlines to non-profit organizations to support public humanities
projects. Major grant applicants must register their Intent to Apply
online prior to submitting a proposal. Major grant requests for
projects in the research or content development phase (e.g., planning
and script development) are limited to under $5000. Major grants
support the production of live public programs and media programs as
well as technical assistance for development of humanities resources
and archives. Project formats include (but are not limited to): talks
and lectures, historical dramatizations, panel discussions, book or
film discussions, workshops, museum interpretations and public
exhibits, oral histories, Teacher Institutes and the development of
educational materials, documentary films, podcasts and radio
programs.
