Susan Sontag's 1963 NYRB review of his Structural Anthropology. I think it may be time for that joint UT-TAMU conference on the legacy of structuralism.

. . . apparently when you get tenure you get to organize a conference (right Jen M.?). What can I do to help?

I think, first, we all need to teach concurrent grad seminars on structuralism . . . then?

oh! and invite students from each other's seminars to collectively come sit in on each other's lectures from time to time: Gunn students roadtrip to College Station, Aune and Mercieca students roadtrip to Austin. sounds like a good time.

I think the Aune and Mercieca students are getting the better end of that scenario John.

Dear Dbailey,

I'm baffled by your comment, would you care to clarify?
