Sometimes Good Pop Is All You Need

. . . what seems to qualify as "good pop" these days is only that which is direct-to-television or a direct-to-movie-soundtrack-woman-singing-the-same-folk-poppy-song-over-and-over. Lenka = Fine Frenzy = [insert what you heard on +Gray's Anatomy+].

Even Danny Elfman, popmeister supreme, has sold out. PIL is no more. Psychic TV, practically defunct. R.E.M.? All "grown up" and electric-guitary, as if to beat back getting older. Where is my Wire? My Gang of Four? The Fall? (they're not on TV, that's where!)

I'd rather chew some Freshen-Up: goes "pop" in yer mouth.
