glad to hear paul's back on the air. i've been needing to write to him.
long may cactus wave.
todd jeffries, who is i think the current klbj news director, is the same "trousers for todd" referred to in my chapter on the tower course in kendall phillips' FRAMING PUBLIC MEMORY. ah, chuck meyer: where are you now???
Used to listen to KLBJ in the morning on the way to work. Sam Cox is still there with Mark Caesar and Ed Clements. Cactus doesn't do his narratives any longer, his son does now.
if memory serves, a former austin police dept traffic sgt who is now a klbj-am drivetime morning radio host. wonder who is still on with him. ed and ed in the morning?? i think one of the eds died or retired. and by the way, is cactus pryor still crowing? hope so!!
ah, local broadcast AM radio still exists, for better and for worse, in cities of sufficient size. metropolis? mebbe. thanks, jim brown. can you say KDKA?? :/
One of the local conservative talk radio guys (Sergeant Sam) called The Anchorage Daily News a "liberal rag" yesterday. :)
